2011 Celebration Luncheon
On June 8, nearly 100 Cabbage Patch supporters gathered in Holladay Hall to celebrate the value of Servant Leadership. Keynote speakers Kent and Kathy Oyler shared how they learned by example and now pass that value on in their volunteerism and philanthropy and lauded The Cabbage Patch for modeling values as they serve at-risk children, youth and their families.
Cabbage Patch alumnus Vernon Wolfork, Captain in the US Army, joined the group via Skype videoconference with his testimonial about how The Patch has profoundly impacted him and made him a committed leader.
Community volunteer Jane Parker was presented with the Roosevelt Chin Changing Lives Award, for her work with the Neighborhood House. The Chin Award is named after longtime Cabbage Patch servant leader, the late Roosevelt Chin, who came to The Patch as a kid, worked here over 40 years, and continued to volunteer after his retirement.
