Welcome to Saturdays at The Patch!

As part of The Patch’s strategic planning, the Board of Directors and staff identified weekend programming as a high priority several months ago, but it wasn’t until The Humana Foundation provided us with a grant that we could make the expanded hours a reality. We are thrilled to be starting the New Year with a resolution to engage current members and new members in purpose-driven activities six days a week!

In Honor of Kimberly “Kim” Hazelwood Glass

The Cabbage Patch family honors the life of Kimberly “Kim” Hazelwood Glass, a modest yet immensely talented alumna who was received into God’s arms on December 27, 2014. Kim started out as an active Patch member in early elementary school. As she developed her skills as an architect in her adult years, she made the transition to leadership as a Board member and a driving force behind The Patch’s facility expansion which was completed in 2009.

With many of The Patch’s College Scholars home for the holidays, December is the perfect time to celebrate their successes and connect them with future scholars! Manager of Educational Opportunities Mayghin Levine organized a festive holiday party that included a chance for the scholars to share lessons from the college experience with members of The Patch’s Teen Club.

The cold winter landscape may be bleak in December, but in the Polly Williams Art Center at The Cabbage Patch, color blooms all year long! On Dec. 16, the Patch’s young artists showed their most recent work at the Winter Art Show, which included several pieces from the recent exhibition at Local Speed.
