Do you remember when “back to school” meant freshly sharpened pencils, notebooks, rulers and erasers? The supply lists have grown since then, and it can be hard for families to keep up with the expense! According to The Huffington Post, the average family spent $634.78 on school supplies this year. That’s a significant amount of money for many Patch Parents who live on a tight budget.
Luckily, we have great friends who make sure that the children of The Patch get the shiny new supplies that will put them on track for success! Second Presbyterian Church, Fresenius Medical Care, Faulkner Real Estate, Belles & Beaus Square Dance Club, Harvey Browne Memorial Presbyterian Church, Melbourne Heights Baptist Church and private donors supplied us with nearly 150 backpacks! We also received lots of notebooks, pens, folders and other supplies. The children of The Patch are so proud of their new back to school items, and parents were relieved to get the assistance they needed. Thank you for helping us get ready to learn!
