The Cabbage Patch has impacted my success in and out of the classroom. At The Patch, the people are not just helping you with your homework, they are your family, role models, guidance counselors, and a shoulder to lean on whenever you need it. Personally, they have had a big impact on my life. I have been going to the Patch since freshman year. My mom took me there so I would have something to do instead of being in the streets getting into trouble. As I started to go more often, it started to become my second home. They welcomed me in with open arms. The people made me feel like they were there to actually help me and had my best interest at heart. While there, I met a lot of successful male role models, learned a lot of life lessons and built a lot of lifelong relationships. I am graduating from high school and about to attend college. They helped me find scholarships, took me on trips, helped me create memories, and the list goes on. Most importantly, this place changed my life for the better. Honestly, I cannot say I would be the person I am today without the Patch.
