When Cabbage Patch client Dana was laid off due to COVID-19, her car started breaking down at the same time. In a year when everything is uncertain, she wasn’t sure how she would replace the vehicle, so she tried to keep up with the costly repairs. As she was called back to work and her daughter started attending the NTI support program at The Cabbage Patch Settlement House, her need for reliable transportation became urgent while the car continued to give her trouble.
As luck would have it, the Family Development Department at The Cabbage Patch got a call from Steve Kelly at Oxmoor Auto Group… he said they had a refurbished car to donate, thanks to Progressive Auto Insurance; did The Patch know any families that could use it? Cabbage Patch staff members were happy to connect him with Dana!
The team at Oxmoor Collision Center put in countless hours rebuilding the car to like-new condition as part of their Recycled Rides program. Dana and her daughter were presented with the keys to their new vehicle on October 23, and they also got a tour of the facility where it was refurbished! We are so grateful for Oxmoor Auto Group and the team at Oxmoor Collision Center. Their generosity has been a true blessing for Dana and her daughter in a very difficult year.
