This summer at The Cabbage Patch, it’s OK to be the class clown! In memory of the beloved Juju the Clown, day campers learned about costumes, creating a character, skits, performance skills and more…all in the name of comedy and camaraderie!
We visited Squallis Puppeteers, where local artists showed us how they make incredible larger-than-life creations using everyday materials. These puppets got us thinking about how we can get creative and find extraordinary uses for ordinary things.
We created our own puppets with mixed media, and Bohemian Monkey helped us get in character with some Cirque du Soleil-inspired fantasy makeup!
Who knew that clowns were so athletic? We challenged ourselves with balancing exercises and some beginner acrobatics.
Has Barnum and Bailey called? We may be ready for the Big Top! Stay tuned for more of our summer camp adventures, and remember, you can help support our programs. Check out some ways to give on our website!
