About Patch Partners
The Cabbage Patch Settlement House’s Patch Partners Ambassadors helps to build the next generation of volunteer leadership for The Cabbage Patch by engaging young leaders with our mission to profoundly change the lives of children and families. Young professionals ages 25 and older are invited to join Patch Partners to support our work with youth in the community. Patch Partners support the work of The Cabbage Patch through volunteering, fundraising and community outreach.
History
Since its inception in 2018, Patch Partners has welcomed hundreds of new individuals to The Cabbage Patch community and successfully raised funds to enhance and expand a variety of essential programs. The group has grown from just two members in 2021 to a current membership of 20 and is still growing.
We salute our inaugural class of officers, whose leadership and determination have set a strong foundation for Patch Partners: Grady Nutt, President (2023-2024), Alexandra Ortiz, President-Elect (2023-2024), Rebecca Allen, Secretary (2023-2024) and Brett Leary, Communications Chair (2023-2024). We will forever be grateful for their contributions and dedication.
Impact
Patch Partners has three primary goals:
1. Fundraising for program expansion to ensure the best resources and opportunities for children and families of The Cabbage Patch
2. Dedicated volunteer service
3. Community outreach to introduce The Cabbage Patch to new audiences within social, professional and religious circles to foster a wider network of support
The group organizes and hosts several events throughout the year that have a significant impact. Their annual Bowling Bash raises funds for the Educational Opportunities Scholarship Fund and raises awareness of The Cabbage Patch in the community. Additionally, they play a crucial role in the annual Back-to-School Drive, providing essential supplies for students. At the end of the school year, Patch Partners organize a party to celebrate the academic achievements of Patch kids.
Patch Partners’ primary goal of cultivating the next generation of leaders for The Cabbage Patch is well on its way to being achieved. With passionate young professionals leading the charge, the future of The Cabbage Patch is exceptionally bright.
